Easter is right round the corner, but the celebrated holiday is a “moveable feast” – meaning it changes its exact date annually.
Every year the celebrated holiday will land on a specific date between March 22 and April 25.
For 2025, the holiday which follows 40 days of Lent lands on April 20.
Some of the following chains will not be open for service on this Christian holiday.
According to a company spokesperson, Target will not be open on Easter Sunday.
The retailer told USA TODAY that all of their locations would be shut during the 24-hour period on Easter.
Additionally, retail warehouse Costco will also not be open.
Doors will stay shut for a whole day on April 20 while staff are given time off.
Sam’s Club, another popular retail giant, will also be shut during this period.

Costco membership sharing guidelines
Costco has strict rules for membership use that shoppers must follow and they’ve been cracking down on offenders in recent years.
- Primary Member Use: Only the primary cardholder can use this Costco membership card. Sharing it for purchases is not allowed as the photo on the card must match the person using it.
- Household Card: Each primary member can add one free household cardholder who lives at the same address. This person will receive their own membership card and can shop at Costco independently.
- Guest Policy: Members can bring up to two guests per visit to Costco. However, only the member can make purchases. Guests must be accompanied by the member.
- Authorized Cardholder: For an additional fee, you can add an authorized cardholder, such as a family member or friend, who doesn’t reside at your address. They will receive their own card and can shop independently.

It comes as Michaels and several other retailers are set to implement temporary closures across all locations soon
