Regional High School Youth in Agriculture Video Competition Launched
The CARICOM Secretariat, in collaboration with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), has launched a Regional High School Youth in Agriculture Video Competition.
Objectives of the Competition
The competition aims to:
- Highlight successful agriculture programs led by students
- Teach the importance of agriculture for food security, sustainability, and economic growth
- Showcase new ideas, techniques, and innovations in the field
- Promote sustainable farming practices and encourage students to use these in their communities
- Inspire young people to see agriculture as a rewarding career or business opportunity
Competition Guidelines
The competition was created during the 17th Caribbean Week of Agriculture in St. Vincent and the Grenadines last month. Students are invited to create a one-minute video showing how agriculture is important in their community, country, or the Region. The deadline to enter is 2 December 2024.
