AI in Security Workshop
The AI in Security workshop is being hosted by CPA UK and Chatham House from Tuesday 28 January 2025 to Thursday 30 January 2025.
The workshop will bring together 30 parliamentarians from 15 Commonwealth legislatures to discuss the impact of artificial intelligence on security and democracy worldwide. Representing Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, and the Pacific, this diverse group of parliamentarians will share their experiences and ideas on the challenges and opportunities presented by AI.
Saint Lucia is being represented by the Honourable Emma Hippolyte, Minister for Commerce, Manufacturing, Business Development Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs, and the Honourable Jeremiah Norbert, Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibility for Home Affairs, Crime Prevention, and Persons with Disabilities.
Workshop Details
The workshop will take place in Westminster, the heart of UK Parliament, and will address critical issues facing the world today, including AI-enabled disinformation, cybersecurity, defence, and international frameworks for responsible AI.
Speakers include Feryal Clark MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Department for Science, Innovation and Technology), and Chi Onwurah MP, Chair of the Science Innovation and Technology Committee, who are both representing the UK Parliament.
Organisations participating in the workshop include Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, The Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), and The Alan Turing Institute.
