A Man Has Been Remanded in Custody
A man has been remanded in custody ahead of appearing before a crown court – after being charged with repeatedly raping a 14-year-old schoolgirl in a Southampton park late at night.
The 43-year-old suspect is accused of carrying out the offences in the city’s Houndwell Park last Saturday at about 10.30pm.
Nicholas Foreman, from Christchurch in Dorset, has been charged with three counts of rape and one count of assault.
He was remanded in custody after appearing before Southampton magistrates yesterday, with a next hearing now set for Southampton Crown Court on March 17.
Hampshire Police Statement
Hampshire Police said in a statement that the alleged victim was being supported by specialist officers.
The force said: ‘A 43-year-old man has been charged following the rape of a 14-year-old girl in Southampton.
‘It was reported that at around 10.30pm on Saturday the girl was raped in Houndwell Park. She is being supported by specialist officers.
