Cynthia Bailey’s ex-husband Peter Thomas arrested for DUI

Cynthia Bailey’s ex-husband Peter Thomas was arrested for driving under the influence, Page Six can confirm.

Police booked Thomas on Tuesday at 2 p.m. ET in Cobb County, Ga. He posed for a mugshot and was released the same day on a nearly $3,000 bail, his booking sheet states.

He was also cited for driving without a license, not having proof of insurance, failure to maintain lane, expired/no tag and a violation of traffic control device.

A judge decreed that Thomas, 63, is prohibited from drinking alcohol and ingesting marijuana. He also must submit to random drug and alcohol testing at his own cost and cannot possess any firearms.

A rep for Thomas didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

Thomas is no stranger to run-ins with the law, having been arrested at Miami International Airport in 2019 on a warrant from Louisiana for allegedly writing fraudulent checks.

The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum explained that he had written a $4,000 check to a talent agency to book a performer for his bar, but his “checking account was compromised” at the time.

“The bank shut it down,” he said. “That means somebody got my debit card number and was using it everywhere.”

Thomas maintained that he was unaware of the warrant that had been out for his arrest.

“Six days I spent in jail,” he said. “[The] ‘celebrity status’ I had made them put me around no one for six days. I don’t wish that on anyone, but I had a lot of time to think, and I had a lot of time to take medication because I’m claustrophobic.”

His attorney later told E! News that the arrest “was an unfortunate misunderstanding.”

Thomas and Bailey, 56, joined “RHOA” in 2010. They confirmed in May 2016 that they were separating.

Two months later, Thomas said the Bravo reality show had added pressure to their marriage and also vehemently denied cheating on Bailey.

“While the show is not the single contributing factor to the turmoil in our relationship, ‘RHOA’ had a lot to do with it. Reality TV can be a blessing and a curse, as it provides tremendous opportunities, but it also puts one hell of a strain on a relationship, especially if the foundation is not solid,” he stated.

“Our individual ambitions were also part of our relationship’s demise.”
