Davina McCall has left The Masked Singer fans in shock after being unmasked as Star on the Christmas Special episode on Thursday, having undergone brain surgery just days prior.
The presenter, 57, who has appeared as a judge for six series on the hit show, put on an impressive performance, singing two festive tunes, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas and This Christmas. Despite being a judge, Davina managed to keep her true identity a secret until the very end.
Regular panellists Jonathon Ross, 64, and Mo Gilligan, 36, were left stunned, with Jonathan saying: “There is absolutely no way, we thought you couldn’t sing that well. I’m glad you’re OK, but to me you are now dead.”
Davina replied: “I thought you might get me with the DVD one. It has been a ball, thank you!”
She later gushed that the show was “one of the greatest experiences of my life” and explained how she had so much “fun” being on the other side of the show.

Davina explained why she decided to take part, saying: “I got the text from the executive producer and it arrived on the show, and I thought, ‘Why not? I love singing, and I love a challenge.’ And I just thought it would be a really fun experience.”
She also revealed that she had to text the bosses at eight o’clock who were obviously in on it, but she had to tell them she had to miss the recording of the Christmas special, and they had to text the whole production team and tell them.
Davina continued: “I know this is all going on in the building next door, but there I am sitting in a ‘Please Don’t Speak To Me’ t-shirt with a balaclava on. It was just the maddest ruse I have ever done.”
In other news, Josie Gibson admitted she was completely ‘out of her comfort zone’ as she was the first celebrity as Cracker to be unmasked on the hit ITV show.
Turkey was revealed to be Strictly Come Dancing judge Motsi Mabuse as she sang Wonderful Christmastime.
And being crowned the 2024 Christmas winner was Holly Johnson as the Nutcracker, who admitted he ‘can’t believe’ he has taken part in the show.
The Masked Singer will return in 2025, with Maya Jama replacing Rita Ora as a judge. Vicky McClure will also join the panel as a guest judge.
The show has been renewed for one more season, which is likely to air in 2026.
