The timestamp of footage shows that the cabbie had only been on the doorstep for six minutes. His wife, who had been out with him earlier in the day, eventually let him in. Andrew had been in the Halfmoon Pub at Wrekenton, Gateshead, all afternoon, watching Newcastle beat Tottenham 2-1 in the Premier League, which was a 12:30pm kick-off on January 4, before heading to the pub and returning home at midnight.

Landlady’s Account
Val Gibson, 52, the landlady of the pub, said: ‘Basically Andrew and Anita had been out from 11.30am before going to watch the Newcastle United match. After a long day of drinking Anita decided to head home at around 10 pm. Andrew, who Anita has since named Alky Capone, rocks up two hours later and the video shows the rest. There is a part one of this video where he is all happy until he realises he can’t get into his house.’
