Former RNC head Ronna McDaniel is fired from NBC news

The Issue: The firing of NBC’s recent hire Ronna McDaniel over pressure from the network’s stars.

Since NBC News hired and fired GOP ex-chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, the NBC Peacock must be ruffling its feathers in protest to this ridiculous situation (“Ron­na NBC ax is must-seethe TV,” March 29).

Their news department is supposed to deliver the news, not become it. Is NBC News more fair and balanced than other news networks?

I think past NBC reporters like Chet Huntley, David Brinkley and John Chancellor would be turning over if they had to see their once-highly regarded news anchors and reporters trying to survive in this hypocritical and biased environment of “gotcha” TV journalism.

It really is a shame that NBC caved to the two-faced so-called news reporters who called for the firing of Ronna McDaniel.

The likes of Joe Scarborough and his wife, Joy Reid, Rachel Maddow and the rest of the deplorables should hang their heads in shame.

They have no material other than President Trump and anyone associated with him. They lie every day and believe their lies.

There is no fair and balanced reporting anymore.

Is there any better example of a step toward communism than NBC’s firing of McDaniel? Mainstream media is attempting to silence all opposing views.

Well, that didn’t take long.

Ex-RNC boss McDaniel was fired before the ink was even dry after just being hired as an NBC News contributor.

Despite the feigned outrage amongst fellow NBC commentators, McDaniel should thank her lucky stars that she won’t have to be subject to TDS — Trump Derangement Syndrome.

The Issue: The death of former Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman at the age of 82.

I am so saddened to learn of former Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman’s death (“Sen. Joe Lieberman, 1942-2024,” March 29).

He was the first and only Democrat I’ve voted for in my 60 years of voting, and probably the last Democrat to get my vote.

He had character and integrity and didn’t waver from what he felt was morally — not politically — correct for the country, his family and God.

Unfortunately, they broke the mold when they made him, as I don’t know of any current politicians who could hold a candle to him.

I am devastated to learn that Lieberman has died at age 82. He was the last above-party Democrat.

He was the Democratic vice presidential nominee in 2000 along with then-Vice President Al Gore. In 2008, Lieberman would endorse Republican John McCain in his presidential bid because he felt the Democratic Party had moved to the extreme left on national security.

Lieberman won as an independent after losing a Democratic primary because he had rightly supported President George W. Bush and the liberation of Iraq.

Recently, Sen. Lieberman was a key part of the “No Labels” movement looking for an alternate 2024 candidate.
