The University of the West Indies (The UWI) has opened registration for its first course offering under the International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) Academic Training Centre (ATC) programme.
About the Course
Design and Development of Smart Cities is an 8-day introductory level course that provides an overview of the essential aspects of smart city development.

The ITU defines a smart sustainable city as an innovative city that uses information and communication technologies (ICTs) and other means to improve the quality of life, efficiency of urban operation and services, and competitiveness, while ensuring the needs of present and future generations are met regarding economic, social, environmental, and cultural aspects.
This course should be of particular interest to intermediate and senior personnel in government offices, regulatory authorities, public and private entities responsible for proposing and installing solutions for smart cities, and members of academia and researchers in related fields.
