Discovering the Wonders of Venice
Introduction to Venice
TRAVEL: by Eric Mackenzie Lamb
A few weeks ago, I drove down to Venice, Italy (Venezia in Italian) to see for myself a city which is world famous for its churches, architecture, and history.
Venice actually consists of 118 small islands separated by canals and linked by over 400 bridges. One of the most popular ways to explore the city is by a floating canoe known as a gondola.
Exploring the City
Below are some images of Venice’s buildings, each replete with history.
To enter churches or museums, visitors often have to wait in line for an hour or more. But all agree that the wait is worth it.
Another way of exploring the city along its narrow canals is by gondola.
Shopping in Venice
Throughout the old city, one sees dozens of shops connected to world famous brand names like Cartier, Balnciaga, Louis Vuitton, Bulgari, Dior, Tiffany, Saint Laurent, Hermes, and many more.
Conclusion
A truly memorable and amazing city to visit.
