Joy Behar slams Queen Elizabeth after King Charles’ cancer diagnosis: ‘Could’ve used term limits’

Joy Behar bashed the late Queen Elizabeth II for spending 70 years as Britain longest-reigning monarch Tuesday on “The View” amid King Charles’ cancer diagnosis.

Buckingham Palace announced Monday that after just 17 months as King, Charles, 75, will begin cancer treatment.

Both his sons Prince William, 41, and the estranged Prince Harry, 39, have rushed to be by his side.

“I hope that will help his prognosis because sometimes, less stress can help,” Whoopi Goldberg said of the monarch having his family’s support.

“Poor Charles,” Behar added, agreeing with Goldberg that he had waited “so long” to assume the throne.

“I mean, the woman was in the position for 70 years, you know, and the longest reign. I think that she could have used some term limits,” the red-headed comedian quipped.

“The View” co-host claimed Queen Elizabeth should’ve given her son his “day in the sun.”

“It’s like, why not step down and let Charles have his day in the sun?” Behar continued. “The poor guy, he finally gets to be king, and now he has an illness. That doesn’t seem fair. There’s something wrong about it.”

Charles’ mother, Elizabeth, ruled from February 1952 until her death in September 2022. She died of “old age” at 96.

While Harry may have flown across the pond to be with his father, a source confirmed to The Post on Tuesday that he and William will not be reuniting.

The brothers have been on bad terms at least since Harry and his wife Meghan Markle stepped down as senior members of the royal family and moved to California in 2020. But the insider added that William has “no plans” to see Harry as he’ll be returning to his royal duties after caring for his wife Kate Middleton as she recovers from abdominal surgery.

Charles appeared to be in good spirits Tuesday morning as he was spotted alongside his wife, Queen Camila, leaving Clarence House where Harry had reportedly made a “quick visit.”
