King Charles ‘will be missing’ Harry on his birthday: ex-butler

King Charles’s upcoming birthday will be a bittersweet day for the monarch as his rift with son Harry rages on, according to his former royal butler.

Grant Harrold, who worked for King Charles for seven years when he was the Prince of Wales, says the King “will be missing” his youngest son on his 75th birthday on November 14.

“I absolutely would expect Harry to send something to Charles on his birthday. It’s the right thing for him to do,” Harrold said.

“Whether it is just a birthday card, a nice gift — or even a phone call, I do think Harry will be making the effort to reach out on his father’s birthday.”

It’s been far from smooth sailing between both camps as tensions reached an all-time high this year following the release of several high-profile projects by the Sussexes.

And the royal family has stayed radio silent on Markle’s and Harry’s respective birthdays.

“I’d like to think that after everything that has happened, he would do the right thing and make it known he’s thinking of him on his special day. Charles will be missing him deep down. It doesn’t make sense for Harry not to do that,” Harrold went on.

“They were so close and it was lovely to see their relationship back then. Even though they may not be as close as they were, I believe one day they can get back to a good place.”

Harrold said that the monarch will be reflecting on his time as King on his special day, and will be feeling “happy and proud” of how far he’s come by “bringing new ways of how to run the country.”

“It won’t be a huge celebration as it isn’t a big milestone,” Harrold notes. “For him, it’s just another year. Birthdays aren’t a massive thing to be celebrated for the Royals.”

Despite that, it’s reported that the King is set to have an intimate celebration at Clarence House in London on his birthday.

“He will be happy to be spending it with his family, but it’s not a special occasion,” he said on behalf of Spin Genie. “He will still be working. If he does have an engagement on the day, they will end up having a party the following weekend.”

“I think everyone agrees that he’s doing a good job. He will be feeling happy that he’s keeping it all ticking along. People seem to be liking what he’s doing. He’s keeping the traditions of his parents where he can, I think he wants to do that for them. But he’s also bringing new ways of how to run the country.”

“He’s been making modern changes here and there, but that’s a good thing. He won’t ever be a replacement for the Queen — they are hard shoes to fill. But he’s doing it in his own way and people are supportive of that.”

“It’s been a natural transition from what we’ve seen so far,” Harrold added.

It comes amid reports that Harry was snubbed an invitation to his father’s 75th birthday party — however the Duke of Sussex’s reps have refuted those claims.

“In response to UK media headlines, there has been no contact regarding an invitation to his majesty’s upcoming birthday,” Ashley Hansen told The Post. “It is disappointing the Sunday Times has misreported this story.”

The couple was snubbed of an invite to the Royal Family’s gathering marking one year since the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
