Mahomes, 29, had a keen interest in the Sweet 16 stage on Thursday night.
It featured his alma mater Texas Tech take on Arkansas for a place in the Elite Eight.
Texas Tech won an overtime thriller 85-83 to seal a quarterfinal spot.
And Mahomes was buzzing at the late night victory.
