Minister of Education Visits Schools, Renovated Bathroom Facilities Now Open

Ministry of Education Officials Visit Halliday-Smith Primary School and Washington Archibald High School

A team of officials from the Ministry of Education led by the Minister of Education, Hon Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, visited the Halliday-Smith Primary School and the Washington Archibald High School (WAHS) on Wednesday, November 13. The visit marked the official opening of the renovated bathroom facilities at both institutions.

Minister’s Remarks

Minister Hanley delivered lighthearted remarks during the visit, expressing gratitude and encouraging students to use the facilities responsibly.

At the Halliday-Smith Primary School, Minister Hanley advised students not to play with the handles on the toilet when flushing, nor to throw wet toilet paper in the roof or on the walls.

At the Washington Archibald High School, Minister Hanley said, “I am happy to be here as a symbolic representation of our [Ministry of Education] commitment in ensuring that our students’ safety, health and wellbeing is a priority within the ministry.” He also thanked the contractor, Andy Cassius and Company, and encouraged students to assist in keeping the bathrooms well-kept.
