New Caribbean Resorts Opening

New Hotels in the Caribbean

Salterra in Turks and Caicos (which also included a new flight). The St. Regis Aruba. Marriott’s new Paraiso de la Bonita. It’s been a big year for new hotels in the Caribbean already, from the sustainability-focused resort in South Caicos to the total revamp of the old Zoëtry in the Riviera Maya.

The summer has even more in store: more openings, with the biggest trend (unsurprisingly) being the growth of all-inclusives, a nod to the broad-based demand for the concept from just about every demographic, including Gen Z.

So yes, the warmer months (one of our favorite times of year in the region) could be even bigger, with a number of new all-inclusive resorts we’re really excited about, across the region, So where are they opening next? Here are four new hotels we’re excited about in the Caribbean, all pegged for a summer debut, all of them all-inclusive.

New All-Inclusive Resorts

A long-awaited debut in Aruba

If you haven’t been to Baby Beach, you’re missing out on one of the best beaches in Aruba.

If it seems like the Secrets Baby Beach Aruba has been in development forever, well.. it was first announced back in 2019. But this year it’s really happening, and the resort that could be a game-changer for the San Nicolas area of the Dutch Caribbean island is slated to open in July.

We love this southern corner of Aruba — it’s quiet, rugged and fun (and nearby San Nicolas is one of the Caribbean’s fastest-growing cultural capitals). You can book as early as the first week of July for $914 per night right now for the grand opening, a bit less if you’re a Hyatt member.

Miches: The Hottest Destination in the Dominican Republic

First there was Club Med. Then Temptation. Then Marriott. Miches is the hottest place in the Dominican Republic right now, and it keeps adding new branded resorts. The latest? Hilton’s first Miches foray, the Hilton Zemi Miches resort, which has a range of accommodations options but some particularly great-looking bungalows on the sand.

The new 500-room Hilton is opening in late June. Rooms starting at $539 in a tropical view configuration. The Club Azure rooms, which are Hilton’s answer to the Preferred Club, start at $706. But you’re actually better off going with a plunge pool beach view room at $648. This one is part of the Curio Collection.

Kimpton’s Entry into the All-Inclusive Market

kimpton tres rios rooftopThe rooftop will be a big draw at Kimpton’s first-ever Caribbean all-inclusive.

Yes, the brand that became famous for its boutique hotels and chef-driven eateries in hip urban neighborhoods is the latest to enter the increasingly competitive all-inclusive space. The new Kimpton Tres Rios will have 355 rooms in all, with a vibe not dissimilar to Kimpton’s other recent opening in Roatan. This one is set in a 340-acre preserve, with all kinds of adventure available. But if you know and love Kimpton, you know the F&B is the story. At this one, you get seven dining concepts with a steakhouse, a Greek-style spot and an Asian-fusion eatery, among others, along with varied bars including a very cool-looking rooftop. And yes, there’s room service. Planned opening date? You can book right now for stays starting Aug. 6. Prices start at about $474, according to Google Hotels.

Hyatt’s Second Saint Lucia All-Inclusive Resort

The Secrets St Lucia has pushed back its opening date several times (but let’s be honest, who hasn’t) but it’s finally targeting a summer debut (and bookable in late June), with a setting near the Choc Bay area of Saint Lucia’s northwestern coast.

secrets saint lucia caribbean all-inclusiveThe new Secrets is another highly-anticipated debut.

There is a Preferred Club (which we’ve made no secret of our affection for), and it’s always worth it at Hyatt Inclusive Collection Caribbean resorts. The cheapest Preferred Club room is a junior suite with an ocean view (and get you amenities like the special lounge and dedicated check-in), with all-inclusive rates at about $1,493 per night right now. But for a little bit more you can get a swim-out king room at $1,630 per night (just make sure you join World of Hyatt first). It’s the second Hyatt-portfolio resort on the island, joining the existing Zoëtry Marigot Bay (set on one of the most beautiful bays in the entire region).

Conclusion

The Caribbean is set to welcome a number of new all-inclusive resorts this summer, offering a range of options for travelers. From the long-awaited debut of Secrets Baby Beach in Aruba to the entry of Kimpton into the all-inclusive market, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a luxurious getaway or an action-packed adventure, these new resorts are sure to impress.
