Nicole Kidman revealed that she used to lie about her height in a desperate bid to secure auditions at the start of her career after she was told she was “too tall” for Hollywood.

The Oscar winner, 56, would tell casting directors that she was 5-feet 10-and-a-half inches when she stood tall at 5-feet 11 inches.

Kidman said she was ruthlessly told that she wouldn’t make it in Tinseltown simply because she’s “too tall.”

“I was teased and called Stalky,” she said on the Radio Times Podcast. “People would say, ‘How’s the air up there?’”

“I was told, ‘You won’t have a career. You’re too tall.’ Now, I get, ‘You’re so much taller than I thought’, or men grappling with how high my heels should be.”

The Aussie actress continued, “Whenever I go on the red carpet, I get sent shoes that are always so high. I’m like, ‘Do they have a kitten heel? I’m going to be the tallest person — a giraffe!’”

Kidman said that her height sometimes “bothers” her when she’s acting, and her knees often hurt as a result.

Still, Kidman missed out on a few roles due to her tall stature.

The Oscar winner, 56, would tell casting directors that she was 5-feet 10-and-a-half inches when she stood tall at 5-feet 11 inches.

Recalling the time she was passed up for a role in the hit musical “Annie,” Kidman said she was two inches taller than the 5ft 2-inch height cut-off.

After pleading with the casting directors to give her a chance to audition, they ultimately let her try out for the role.

“I didn’t get the part,” she said. “I didn’t even get a call back — but at least I got to sing four lines of a chorus.”

Kidman said she makes sure to teach her daughters the “superpower” of courage and resilience.

The “Big Little Lies” star, however, said she’s “grateful to be healthy and walking around.”

“What matters is how you allow other people to either say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to you, and whether you accept that,” she added.

She’s also mom to teen daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, whom she shares with country singer Keith Urban, to whom she’s been married since 2006.
