AMERICANS are being urged to check their lottery tickets as a $50,000 Powerball prize is set to expire in just a few days.
The Minnesota Lottery is reminding players to check their tickets to see if they have the winning numbers, as the prize must be claimed by January 3rd 2025.
The winning ticket was bought at a Club Foods store on 60th & Nicollet in Minneapolis.
There are two other $50,000 Powerball prizes that are set to expire soon, one bought at a Super One Foods store in Baxter, Minnesota, and the other at a Kwik Trip store in Monticello.
Players have until March 23rd and April 1st 2025 to claim these prizes, respectively.
The Powerball is running several other lottery games that will expire soon, but this one only has a few days remaining.
Players have until a year after the game is opened until it closes, and the money cannot be given to the winner if it hasn’t already been claimed.
The grand $100,000 Powerball with Power Play prize has until June 24th 2025 to be claimed, bought at a Speedway in White Bear Lake.
A frantic search is still underway for a new billionaire in the Mega Millions Lottery, with a $1.2billion jackpot won on the Mega Millions lottery after a winning ticket was bought at a gas station in California.
The lucky numbers were pulled on Friday night at a Sunshine Food and Gas station in Cottonwood, California, gifting an unknown American the fifth-largest Mega Millions prize.
Nobody knows who the winner is yet, as a three-month drought with no grand prize winners enters its final agonizing moments.
Joshua Johnston, lead director for the Mega Millions Consortium, said: “What an amazing present this holiday season. At an incredibly special time of year, this is both an incredibly special moment for our winner, and for all the great organizations and causes that benefit from lottery ticket sales around the country.”
The new billionaire can claim the estimated $1.22 billion in annual sums, or choose the one-time cash payout of approximately $549.7 million.
