Rudy Giuliani’s lawsuit payout to Georgia poll workers: Letters

The Issue: The $148 million in damages Rudy Giuliani is ordered to pay Georgia poll workers.

The federal judicial system in this country has gone off its hinges. (“Price of defame,” Dec. 16).

How can the jury justify $148 million paid to the Georgia poll workers Wandrea Moss and Ruby Freeman?

The absurdity of the amount, at the same time Hunter Biden is thumbing his nose at Congress, just shows what the Democrats are trying to do: punish anyone who is brave enough to defend former president Donald Trump.

Maybe Giuliani — who actually loves this country and cleaned up New York as its mayor — can borrow the money from Hunter, since the latter has made plenty from his activities.

And maybe Giuliani should run for mayor again, as we can surely use him in New York to clean up the sewer Democrats have made of our city.

Rudy’s attorneys are whining about the $148 million awarded to the Georgia poll workers he victimized early in 2021.

Perhaps he should have seen the big picture before he rubber-stamped his most sycophantic step yet on his boss Trump’s altar to himself.

Sure, it’s excessive; such things happen when regular folks tire of digging out from Trump’s evil, unqualified, bottomless, narcissistic selfishness.

The recent case against former Mayor Rudy Giuliani features what might be one of the nation’s largest civil settlements of its nature.

Math was one of my strongest subjects when I was in elementary school. But for the life of me, I still wouldn’t be able to tell what percentage $148 million is of $1 billion. That’s a lot of money.

The good old boys’ empire is crumbling — and free speech with it.

In light of the nearly $148 million awarded to the Georgia election workers, I propose the Rolling Stones serenade Giuliani with the following version of their 1967 classic “Ruby Tuesday”:

“You lied about Wandrea and Ruby, now you pay. Defamed their names, and shame on you. The judge ruled in their favor, for them, it was a good day, And it’s sure gonna cost you!

The Issue: First Lady Jill Biden’s new avant-garde Christmas decorations for the White House.

First Lady Jill Biden’s woke Christmas display is laughable when compared to the media-derided but beautiful traditional display by former First Lady Melania Trump (“That’s nutscracker,” Dec. 15).

The cringeworthy display of talentless “dancers” shows just how this White House panders to a segment of woke secular fanatics.

The sight of strolling, clown-like figures and gyrating awkward movements resembles a bad dream resulting from a weekend bender. The amateurish scenery and performance are uninspiring, distasteful and better suited to an off-Broadway show.

They do not represent the majority of Americans who celebrate Christmas.

You can take Jill Biden out of the swamp, but you can’t take the swamp out of Jill Biden. Just look at her atrocious Christmas decorations, hardly befitting a ballet theme.

And the Bidens hung up no stockings this year, clearly to avoid being shamed (as in 2022) for not hanging one for Hunter’s daughter Ruby.

This year’s decorations fail to live up to the style and grace of Melania’s Trump’s ballet-inspired decorations, just as Jill fails to live up to the beauty and elegance of her predecessor.
