Attendee Ashley Chadamoyo, 23, described the performance as “shocking.”

“I’m not sure that’s even the word to use because after talking to people at the gig, apparently Nicki Minaj was worse, but it was not good,” she expressed.

“He [Sean Paul] didn’t come on until 10.30 pm, played until 11.15 pm, so he was on stage for about 45 minutes.”

She added, “He was flying through the songs, and I remember at one point looking to my friend to say, ‘Would he slow it down a bit?’

“There were so many songs we didn’t get to hear. I went to an official after-party following the gig where I heard more of his music than in the gig itself,” Ashley remarked.

High Ticket Prices and Disappointment

Although Ms. Chadamoyo paid about €60 for her ticket, she talked to several other admirers who spent as much as €95 to see the performance.

“I was so excited to see him because I grew up on his music and listening to him, and I think it was his first time in Dublin,” she noted.

“I was buzzing because I never thought I’d get a chance to see him live, and the day was perfect for it. Everyone was in good spirits, but it was just really disappointing.”

She added, “Even if it is a joint tour between Ashanti and Sean Paul, they should be performing for the same amount of time. I’m annoyed because we didn’t get what we paid for.”

Under-Rehearsed Performance

“The whole thing just seemed under-rehearsed, which is a shame because I think he is known for having an amazing stage presence and putting on stellar gigs,” she revealed.

Before Ashanti entered the stage, a backup act played for a long time, according to a staff member at Sean Paul’s event in Dublin. There was a lapse of more than half an hour following Ashanti’s performance, which made several employees question if Sean Paul would play.
