High Commissioner of St. Kitts and Nevis to Canada Embarks on Official Mission to Nova Scotia
Mission Objectives
The High Commissioner of Saint Kitts and Nevis to Canada, H.E. Mr. Samuel Berridge, is currently on official duty in the eastern Canadian Province of Nova Scotia. This six-day mission aims to engage prominent academic, provincial, business, and community leaders to discuss strengthening areas of cooperation new to St. Kitts and Nevis and Canada.
Mission Activities
The mission began on Sunday, May 05, with Dalhousie University’s Chancellor, Mr. Rustum Southwell, a son of the soil and one of Nova Scotia’s most prominent community and business leaders. On Monday, May 06, High Commissioner Berridge visited the Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC), where the High Commissioner discussed networking opportunities, exchange programs among faculty and students, and possible scholarships for the Federation’s youth to build capacity primarily in the fields of tourism and hospitality, personal care nursing, the creative industry, e.g. (video graphics, music production, editing, etc.), journalism and business entrepreneurship.

Later that day, the High Commissioner visited the Black Cultural Center of Nova Scotia, where he was greeted with a pictorial lesson on the rich history and evolution of influential Nova Scotians of African descent and their contributions to the building of that province and by extension, Canada. High Commissioner Berridge is accompanied by Counsellor Mr. Kervin Lloyd and Senior Programme Advisor/ First Secretary Mr. Kressell Daniel on this visit and is scheduled to visit other key partners to strengthen existing partnerships and find new synergies that align with the national development agenda.
