St. Lucia: UVM Student Researchers Conduct Surveys on Water Supply Perceptions
A group of student researchers from the University of Vermont (UVM) are currently on the island of St. Lucia, conducting surveys on consumer perceptions of the current water supply.

Background
UVM has had a longstanding relationship with the Consumer Affairs Department (CAD) of the Ministry of Commerce, Manufacturing, Business Development, Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs, which has allowed for the undertaking of various research and philanthropic projects throughout the island. This partnership was established through a Mutual Cooperation Agreement in 2004.

In the past, CAD staff have pursued short-term courses in the Consumer Assistance Program and Research Techniques and Methods at the UVM, and have continued to benefit from in-country training sessions in Consumer Law, Research Techniques and Methods, Report Writing, and more recently Data Analytics delivered by the university’s lecturers.
