Powerboat Race Draws Crowds to West End

Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Kingsley Smith officially opened the 2nd Annual West End Homecoming and Powerboat Race, held in West End on the Emancipation Day holiday (Monday, August 5th, 2024), welcoming Bahamians and visitors alike.

Event Draws Huge Crowds
The event drew hundreds of spectators to West End, making the journey from West Grand Bahama for a fun-filled day of powerboat and jet ski races, as well as entertainment by local artists.
Minister for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Ginger Moxey, also made an appearance, meeting with event organizers and greeting vendors who provided a range of delicious food and drinks for festival-goers to enjoy.
West End: "Home of Hospitality"
West End is famous for its warm hospitality and signature Bahamian dishes, including conch fritters, conch salads, and fried fish and pancakes.
